Try Day Pottery Class
 

​​Get a little dirty and creative at Clayroom San Mateo while you learn a new medium on the pottery wheel!

These one time classes are designed for those with little to no ceramics experience and

intended to be a lighthearted learning activity.

TryDay Wheel-throwing Overview: Every Friday Evening (6:15-8:15 pm) & Saturday Afternoon (3-5pm) at San Mateo

Note: Class is designed for ages 14 and over

Demo: Your instructor will start with a demo and break down wheel throwing into 4 discrete steps.

Group Throwing: Then, as a class, we will go through each of these steps and be more prescriptive about what exactly to do.

Individual Creations: Your instructor will support you through the remainder of the class as you make bowls, cups, vases, plates, etc...

Clean-up and Finishing: Our expert staff will hand-finish and glaze your work for you before getting it back to you within 4-6 weeks of your class.

Post Event Process: 

Our expert staff will hand-finish and glaze your work after you leave it with us.

This includes bisque firing, glaze firing and bagging up all finished work.

The post event process typically takes between 4-6 weeks. Once they are finished, a staff member will notify the event organizer via email to come pick up the individually bagged artwork. In-person pick up is required, we do not ship.

All finished work will be dishwasher, microwave and food safe.
